So show season has officially kicked off with InCarNation. A modest 6.00am wake up call and on the road by 6.45. Started out in a small focus convoy but they all left me for dead on the 27 (well I struggled to keep up), then left the second meeting point in a better paced convoy with a couple mint Mustangs, a RS Turbo or two and a incredible sound monster mondeo.
We got to Marina Drive and on stand pretty smoothly, prob parked up by 8.30 which was pretty good. To start the season with a good varied crowd on a nice sunny Saturday and local to me is pretty much all I wanted for today. I did a lot of chatting to the Ford Tec crew, there were a lot of the classic club members out on show so that was rad. I only saw two other mk2 Fiestas, and no mk1s in the whole show but I reckon they were all up at Boxhill, which I imagine Ill be at next year. It was a long old walk end to end and my technology let me down badly, my phone ran out of juice almost instantly and my digital point and flash camera has long past its life expectancy, so filled up its tiny memory card then promptly died as well, but I did get some good pics.
I saw so many more cars though which Id love to have pics of, there was a rad mk1 Toyota Starlet which I’m gutted I didn’t get a picture of, and just loads more.
Always good to see Jake and his club Berkshire Retro & Custom, who had the killa black bug and a few other lookers with them.
I gotta admit I think the cars of the show for me (which I have pics of) are the mint green mini, and the mint green Nova, which the photos do not do them justice at all, the static slammed bug with its arse out, and surprisingly the Merc rocked my world a little and then of course BMW 320 which has a certain air of radness to it.
Think that covers it for now, but watch this page cause Ill prob put another post up about it over the next few days.
