So this is gonna be a bit of a tough one for me, as I don’t know too much about the Jap seen and I don’t want to be saying the wrong thing, missing out the important details, or just not giving this car the credit it deserves, but seeing as I sought out Daniel and his stunning R33 via the powers of the Internet, I figure as long as I pass on the info I’ve been given, and add a bit of a my personal thoughts about it, then hopefully we’ll all be happy.
So ModiFLY is about modification and looking fly (this is of course subjective), we’re not about any specific make, model or style, its not about the BHP or money spent, its about it all. But of course I have my own tastes, this is why I won’t be posting ANY BMW minis, or Corsa’s (childish maybe, but hay that’s my call to make), I will however be posting some of my dream cars (when opportunity allows) and the Skyline has always been a dream car. Its the road legal race car that looks mean as fook straight out the factory, and this ones no joke. Daniel built this Skyline up from a rolling shell, with some help from a local garage he put in the whole running gear, engine, box, suspension, subframes, brakes, wiring, the lot, and if like me, your a self taught driveway mechanic the idea of building up from a rolling shell is both idyllic and petrifying (its on my to do list). After the rebuild it was resprayed in factory QM1 white, dropped on some cusco coilovers, and sitting pretty on some JR12 Japan racing wheels. Behind those shoes are drilled and grooved discs to stop the mighty turbo’d 2.5litre, with the added front mount intercooler, decat and straight through exhaust this skyline has got to be getting close to 300bhp.
I had to do some googling to find out the difference between the GTR and the GTST but once you’ve done a few mods here and there, there really isn’t that much in it. The GTST is RWD not 4WD, and only has 1 turbo, but it can still easily hit 300bhp (with mods) but only has 250bhp as standard unlike the GTR which has around 320bhp. (please correct me if Im wrong)
Once, like Daniel you’ve swapped over the front end for a replica GTR one, and added a beautiful GTR rear spoiler I doubt anyone would really know. Then the final touch, which was the touch that sparked my interest in this specific R33, and that the BeeR carbon fibre blade addition to the rear end.
All in all this Skyline is a thing of beauty. Luckily for us Daniel is a great photographer and managed to really show off his ride in these great shots, I have more that will be added to the blog when the blog gets made, but for more check out his insta @R33 GTST_DJM to see more.
